Account name change
about 2 years ago – Thu, Apr 21, 2022 at 08:29:03 PM

Hello!

I’m changing the display name on this Kickstarter account to more accurately reflect the nature of the way we release roleplaying games. When I started out it was just me and a dream and some goblins, but we’re now running a business with employees and deadlines and everything.

So from now on, this account will be called Rowan, Rook and Decard - that’s our official business name.

In order to get the name changed I’m having to go through all my projects and post an update in each of them alerting you to it, so my apologies if you get several notifications which all say the same thing.

Our next Kickstarter (launching May 17th) is DIE the RPG, written by Kieron Gillen and illustrated by Stephanie Hans. It’s based on the comic of the same name, it’s absolutely gorgeous, and you’ll probably love it. You can follow along here.

Thank you all for your support over the years.

EU delivery update, digital fulfillment and discount codes
about 3 years ago – Wed, Apr 07, 2021 at 11:20:37 AM

Some news on deliveries, etc:

  • All the EU-bound books are now with Kixto and began shipping yesterday. If you don't get your book in, say, a fortnight, then drop an email to [email protected] and we'll take a look into it.
  • DTRPG fulfilment has happened - check your emails for a link to add the PDF to your library. Itch.io distribution is currently a work-in-progress while we wait for confirmation from them, but you should receive an email about that soon too.
  • If you chose to receive a less-than-perfect copy of the hardcover, you should now have a coupon code in a PDF via a Backerkit email that gives you £5 off anything you purchase on rrdgames.com or ufopress.co.uk - or the Backerkit for SIN, our Spire RPG sourcebook that's currently on Kickstarter. Again, if you haven't received it, let us know and we'll sort you out.

(Why UFO Press? Great news: we've merged with UFO Press, another small press UK RPG publisher, and we've brought on Minerva McJanda as a full-time employee; Mina laid out the Unbound rulebook so you already know she's great. We're going to keep the UFO Press name on as an imprint for work written by Minerva.)

Thanks again for your support - we couldn’t do what we do without you.

Best wishes

European Unbounds Inbound!
about 3 years ago – Wed, Mar 24, 2021 at 03:40:52 PM

Just a quick note to say that we've set up a deal with Kixto to distribute all the European orders that have yet to ship - and at no extra cost to you, as we've taken care of the customs charges. Please make sure that your addresses are correct, as we'll be locking them down on Friday and sending off the orders next week.

Thanks so much for your patience on this!

Reprints en route!
about 3 years ago – Sat, Mar 13, 2021 at 01:24:25 AM

Hello!

If you opted to wait for the edition of Unbound with the correct cover, and you live anywhere other than the EU, then it's on its way to you right now (and may in some cases have already arrived). We're still working on the EU shipping - our main concern as ever is making sure you don't end up paying for the book twice, and as soon as we have a good answer for that we will get your parcels on their way to you. Digital fulfilment will also be coming in the next few days, so look out for emails from DriveThru and itch.io if you signed up for your free copies there.

Cheers,

- Mary, Chris and Grant

Reprint shipping update
about 3 years ago – Sat, Feb 27, 2021 at 10:55:58 AM

Hello!

Okay, so:

We're going to lock orders for all non-EU shipments today, as we've finally managed to get the reprinted books out of Latvia and into the UK (with only one unexpected customs charge, in addition to the expected customs charges!). Once we've done this we'll ship out your books from our distribution centre in Nottingham as soon as we can.

For EU shipments... well, we don't want you to have to pay import duty on them. Brexit is still very much going through what I'm going to call "teething problems," in that it about as much fun to navigate export legislature it as it is to have someone pull your teeth out with pliers, and it is somewhere between impossible and too expensive (for either us or you or both) to move goods east into the continent.  We have applied to be part of a broad administrative rigmarole that allows us to send things out of the country,  and we'll let you know how that's all going once we find out.

Our apologies for the delay, and our thanks for your continued understanding.

Yours,

- Grant
