Hardbacks?

You asked for hardbacks, so we looked into it. Here's what we found out:
While using a hardback binding method would make the book more survivable in standard use situations (i.e. shoving it in your bag and getting on a bus, using it as a coaster, deflecting incoming attacks) it wouldn't lay flat on the table during play. That's mainly due to the smaller A5 size - the cover boards aren't big or heavy enough to provide the necessary leverage to keep the pages open. Here's a picture that our printer sent over of an equivalent-sized book in hardback binding:
So, going with our printer's recommendation, we're not going to offer hardback, but we're going to make the book as survivable and pleasing as possible to hold whilst still being optimised for use at the table.
In other news we've funded four times over in two days, which is nice.
